Master Cross-Functional Alignment

Lead the S&OP process to break down silos and achieve a unified Consensus Forecast

Apply Statistical & Causal Models

Build Time Series models (Moving Averages, Holt-Winters) and Advanced Predictive Models (Regression, ARIMAX)

Measure True Performance

Calculate WAPE and utilize Forecast Value Added (FVA) — moving beyond flawed standard MAPE metrics

Navigate Uncertainty & Eliminate Worst Practices

Apply Delphi Method for new products and diagnose cognitive biases like sales sandbagging and the "hockey stick" effect

Career & Business Benefits

This program equips professionals with practical capabilities that strengthen both individual career growth and organizational performance.

Career Advancement

Mastering advanced demand planning accelerates career growth, leadership opportunities, and long-term job security. Trained professionals are highly marketable and better positioned for competitive, well-remunerated roles.

Business & KPI Impact

Apply practical forecasting techniques to improve forecast accuracy, optimize inventory, strengthen customer service levels, and support better financial performance.

Unit 1: Evolution of Demand Planning

The Bullwhip Effect, Unconstrained vs. Constrained demand, and forecasting in a VUCA world by introducing the key sources of demand and supply uncertainty, and how they influence planning decisions.

The standard 5-step S&OP process, managing departmental conflicts, and external collaboration

“Garbage In, Garbage Out” rule, outlier cleansing, and techniques for distinguishing genuine demand uncertainty from data anomalies, outliers, and one-off events to improve forecasting reliability.

Naive models, Moving Averages, Simple Exponential Smoothing. and the Holt-Winters Method

How WAPE, Tracking Signals (Bias), Out-of-Sample testing, and mastering Forecast Value Added (FVA) should be interpreted under varying levels of market volatility and uncertainty.

Unit 6: Advanced Modeling

Simple and Multiple Regression, Dummy Variables, and an introduction to ARIMA methodologies

Evolutionary vs. revolutionary products, and position new product forecasting as a high uncertainty planning scenario, with greater emphasis on assumptions, expert judgment, and structured forecasting approaches.

Forecasting Packages vs. Systems, Clustering Algorithms, Classifiers, and evaluating Machine Learning

Storytelling with data, resolving consensus conflicts, and building a collaborative forecasting culture to communicate forecast assumptions, confidence levels, and uncertainty to management to support better business decisions.

Deconstructing industry failures (e.g., the “One Number” myth) and developing a personalized maturity action plan

Program Assessment

Learners are evaluated through a blend of interactive and output-based assessments throughout the 12-hour program:

Live Workshops (Quantitative)

Hands-on exercises: clean a raw historical dataset and build baseline statistical models - Moving Average and Holt-Winters

Role-Play Simulation (Qualitative)

Navigate a high-stress simulated S&OP meeting - graded on resolving conflicting departmental targets and establishing a logical Consensus Forecast

Final Action Plan Submission

Capstone output: assess your organization's forecasting maturity and document three concrete, actionable steps to implement immediately upon returning to work
