Established and supported by the Becamex Corporation, operating on a business university model, EIU serves as a pioneer in connecting universities with businesses to build an innovative ecosystem. It is a core element in the Smart City project and the Binh Duong Innovation Region. The university also fulfils its mission of training a high-quality workforce, proficient in their field and foreign languages.

To achieve these goals, EIU regularly organises academic programs and activities and invites reputable scholars and researchers from various fields nationally and globally. The insights and contributions from these researchers help the university, as a whole, and individual departments make macro-level adjustments to their training directions, maximising the internal potential of each unit within the university. This contributes to fulfilling the university’s mission of “advance knowledge and serve the community” , asserting its reputation and brand on the national and international education map.
