On 8th of November 2023, Eastern International University organized the EIUSC 2023 (Eastern International University Scientific Conference) under the theme “The University Scientific Research Activities in the Context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.” The conference was a lively event, hosting nearly 300 researchers, faculty members, specialists, and students from the university, alongside distinguished guests from various universities such as King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (Saudi Arabia), National University of Singapore (NUS), RMIT Vietnam, University of Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, and Ton Duc Thang University.
In his opening speech, Dr. Ngo Minh Duc, the president of EIU, shared, “Following the success of the first Eastern International University Scientific Conference in 2022, EIU is delighted to welcome researchers, faculty members, specialists, and students to the EIUSC 2023. EIU is striving to develop a comprehensive ecosystem to foster innovation and transformation within the context of Industry 4.0, including the Advanced Manufacturing Center, Industry 4.0 Innovation Center, and Cybersecurity Center. To sustain this ecosystem, one of the significant and annual activities for the university is to create an academic environment where researchers, faculty, specialists, and students can convene, exchange ideas, and discuss both macro and micro issues that require research and resolution.”

The conference consists of three main sessions: a Plenary Session, Reports from specialized subcommittees, and a Poster Presentation Session. These sessions revolve around five major themes: Economics, Business and Management; Engineering; Information Technology; Health Sciences; University Administration, and other related topics.
Prof. Dr Ahmed A D Sharhan shared the topic “The Fourth industrial revolution: The current era of smart technology” at the program
At the plenary session, Prof. Dr Ahmed A D Sharhan from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (Saudi Arabia) shared insights on the challenges of Industry 4.0 under the theme “The Fourth Industrial Revolution: The Current Era of Smart Technology.” He highlighted two major challenges facing Industry 4.0: Technology Challenges and Social Challenges. Within the realm of Technology Challenges, elements such as Cybersecurity, Communication Reliability & Quality of Service, and the processing of Big Data constitute significant factors contributing to the current technological challenges.
Continuing the program, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Binh and Dr. Vo Thi Hong Diem from RMIT Vietnam shared specific insights during the conference on the theme “Race with the Machines: Assessing the Capability of Generative AI in Solving Authentic Assessments.” They discussed the role of Generative AI in research, teaching, assessment planning, new opportunities, and challenges in education concerning ensuring students’ learning outcomes and utilizing the benefits of AI in homework assignments.

During the specialized committee report sessions and poster presentation sessions, the debating council and the participating domain experts were reputable scientists, experienced researchers, and seasoned educators from various fields relevant to the conference. The environment fostered an enthusiastic academic exchange. All topics received constructive feedback and positive comments from the council.
The university council and board of presidents presented certificates and gifts to the speakers during the plenary session.
At the conclusion of the conference, the Organizing Committee awarded certificates to the 8 outstanding presentations and 4 notable posters across the specialized committee sessions. Additionally, the papers meeting the requirements will be selected for publication in the comprehensive proceedings (either in print or online, with an ISBN index).
