Binh Duong among Top 7 Intelligent Communities worldwide in 2 consecutive years
Binh Duong Province and the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) co-hosted the 2022 Top 7 ICF Conference & Announcement at the Binh Duong Convention & Exhibition Center on June 21.
Among the VIPs joining the event were Central Economic Committee leaders, Government and ministerial officials, provincial authorities, and international delegates.
Addressing the event, Politburo member and Central Economic Committee chief Mr. Tran Tuan Anh praised Binh Duong’s successful development and implementation of the southern province’s smart city strategy. The strategy includes the Triple Helix Model of Government – Enterprises – Universities, and the 5-layer model for the Binh Duong Innovation region project. The model features factors like development planning for urban infrastructure and transportation, as well as building up an innovative entrepreneurship culture.
ICF co-founder Louis Zacharilla appreciated the province’s efforts in putting people and knowledge at the centre of all aspects in the strategy, taking smart cooperation as the main philosophy for development.

Thanks to its smart city development strategy, Binh Duong has clinched the glory in two years in a row.
Addressing the ceremony, Binh Duong’s Standing Vice Chairman Mai Hung Dung said securing the global valuable title for the straight second year will motivate the province to continue to strive for non-stop sustainable growth, improving the lives of its residents and fueling success of provincial enterprises.
As part of the Binh Duong Smart City Project, Becamex IDC Corporation has built an innovative ecosystem with many key members, contributing to the development of a smart city. As a Becamex IDC member, EIU has made important contributions to the application of digital transformation and innovation in the smart city development goals. The University continuously strives to fulfil its role within the “Triple Helix Model ” and the 5-layer model through providing high-quality human resources for the society, promoting scientific research, technical applications, entrepreneurship and innovation, technology transfer and community service.
To achieve the goals, EIU has actively built and developed an innovation ecosystem within the university with many units such as the 4.0 Technology Experiment Center (Lab 4.0), Fablab Manufacturing Experiment Center (EIU Fablab), Becamex Business Incubator (BBI), Smart Library. The ecosystem serves the stuyding, lecturing and research of students and lecturers, and serves outsiders in the community; attracting human resources to Binh Duong to study, work and research; contributing to socio-economic development, making Binh Duong a dynamic and worth-living city.
