On February 24, Eastern International University (EIU), in collaboration with the Center for Education Accreditation (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City) (CEA VNU-HCM), organized the official opening of the survey for educational quality accreditation of EIU, Cycle 2, according to the standards set by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Attending the opening ceremony on behalf of the Center for Education Quality Accreditation, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam – Director of the Center for Education Quality Accreditation, VNU-HCM, Head and Supervisor of the External Evaluation Team. From the External Evaluation Team, attendees included: MSc. Pham Thi Bich – Vice Director of the Center for Testing and Education Quality Assessment, VNU-HCM, Team Member and Secretary; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Tien Khoa – Former Rector of the International University, VNU-HCM, Team Member; Dr. Le Thi Anh Tu – Head of the Quality Management Office, Dalat University, Team Member; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Thanh Cong – Deputy Head of the Science and Technology Department, VNU-HCM, Team Member; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Sinh – Former Dean of the Faculty of Library and Information Science, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM, Team Member.
Representing Eastern International University were Dr. Ngo Minh Duc – President, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Trong – Vice President, along with faculty leaders, heads of departments, centers, affiliated units, lecturers, and staffs of the university.
In his welcome speech at the event, Dr. Ngo Minh Duc, President of EIU, shared that The survey for educational quality accreditation plays a vital role. It not only enables the university to objectively and comprehensively assess its training quality but also provides an opportunity to reflect on achieved outcomes and identify areas for improvement. This process allows the university to continue enhancing the quality of teaching and learning to meet the expectations of all stakeholders.

Throughout the teaching and learning process, particularly during the 2020-2024 period, EIU has actively implemented quality accreditation for its academic programs and achieved a 100% accreditation rate for its programs (7 programs), with high results (a success rate of 92% or higher). Notably, the program in Electrical Engineering, Data communications and Computer Networks achieved a 100% success rate, ranking in the top 1% of accredited programs nationwide. This demonstrates EIU’s continuous focus on improving and enhancing the overall quality of education, from the curriculum to teaching methods, faculty, and facilities supporting teaching and learning.
In her remarks at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam – Director of the Center for Education Quality Accreditation, VNU-HCM, Head and Supervisor of the Evaluation Team – expressed her gratitude to the university for the trust, support, and favorable conditions provided during this official accreditation survey. She emphasized that this was a valuable opportunity for the team to observe the improvements and progress across all aspects of EIU’s development.

To objectively review the university’s activities over the past five years from an external perspective, the Center for Education Quality Accreditation, VNU-HCM, has invited experts from various fields to participate in this evaluation. Their insights will contribute to proposing effective solutions for enhancing education quality in the future – Director of Education Quality Control Center, VNU-HCM added.


The Facilities Assessment Team
Earlier, during the preliminary survey conducted on February 11, the External Evaluation Team from the Center for Education Quality Accreditation, VNU-HCM, held internal discussions and working sessions with EIU to align on key tasks, working methods, and the day’s schedule to ensure a smooth and timely evaluation process. Accordingly, the team conducted an initial review of relevant documents and evidence, as well as a survey and inspection of facilities serving the accreditation process, including faculty offices, lecturers’ workspaces, the medical center, dormitories, sports areas, and the overall learning and living environment for students. At the conclusion of the session, representatives from both the External Evaluation Team and EIU signed the “Minutes of Completion of the Preliminary Survey”.

During the official survey period at EIU, the external evaluation team will carry out activities such as reviewing documentation, surveying departments, working directly with key staff, and conducting interviews with various groups involved in the accreditation process./.
