Regarding the PRIME research, Professor Liaw Sok Ying stated that the primary focus of the research will be patient safety, the identification and response to clinical deterioration. Additionally, the PRIME research also examines interprofessional collaboration and education in nursing training.

Currently, there are many programs and software available to help nurses quickly identify and respond to worsening patient conditions. One such software is RAPIDS (Rescuing A Patient In Deteriorating Situations), which is currently used in major hospitals and has saved many patients, Professor Liaw Sok Ying added.

Professor Laura Tham Schmidt shares with the attendees on the topic ‘Palliative Care Simulation

Following the program, Professor Laura Tham Schmidt shared with the attendees on the topic of ‘Palliative Care Simulation.’ Professor Laura Tham Schmidt explained that at NUS, we focus on providing the necessary knowledge and skills for nursing students in caring for terminally ill patients. Currently, NUS has developed and implemented the ‘Project Caring Heart’ model, a project carried out by NUS nursing students to connect with home-based palliative care patients and raise awareness about palliative care in Singapore.

After nearly 15 years of establishment and development, EIU has established a wide network of international partnerships across many regions and signed cooperation agreements with reputable international educational institutions, with a total of nearly 40 educational establishments from various countries around the world. In Singapore, EIU has partnerships with NUS and Nanyang Polytechnic (SP).

Over the past years, many experts and scholars from Singapore, particularly from NUS, have visited EIU to exchange experiences and organize sharing sessions with the university’s lecturers and students. In return, EIU has organized several study tours for students and experience exchange programs for lecturers at NUS. Notably, on September 18th, 2024, Becamex IDC, the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park, and NUS signed a strategic cooperation agreement, providing EIU students with more opportunities to study, experience, and develop their careers, contributing to the community in the future.
