Following the international collaboration promotion trip to Japan by EIU’s leadership in October 2024, Eastern International University (EIU) recently welcomed 26 students from Yamaguchi Prefectural University, Yamaguchi University, and Asia University for a short-term study program.
The exchange program, running from February 16 to March 15, 2025, offers Japanese students a variety of engaging activities, including English language classes taught by native-speaking instructors at EIU, and cultural immersion experiences in Binh Duong province. This program provides an excellent opportunity for the visiting students to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture, people, and society, while enhancing their global awareness and intercultural communication skills through hands-on learning.

On their first day at EIU, the 26 students, guided by the Office of International Affairs and the EIU Language Center, toured the university campus and its facilities. To ensure convenient transportation throughout their stay, the students received instructions on how to use the Tokyu Bus system and were introduced to the Becamex Tokyu ecosystem in Binh Duong New City.

As part of the exchange program, on February 28, the Japanese students participated in academic and cultural exchange sessions with students from various faculties at EIU. These activities created opportunities for both groups to share knowledge about their cultures and learning styles, while developing communication and teamwork skills in a multicultural environment.

With its mission of training high-quality human resources for Binh Duong province, EIU continues to play a strategic role in regional human capital development. In pursuit of this goal, alongside education and research, EIU has actively expanded its domestic and international partnerships — including with institutions in Japan. The presence of Japanese students at EIU this term marks a significant milestone in the university’s internationalization efforts and reflects the growing recognition of EIU as an emerging institution in global education. This program is also one of the highlights celebrating EIU’s 15th anniversary this year.
