Final round of the English Debate Competition “Youth Pulse” 2024

This morning (August 21), the final round of the English Debate Competition “Youth Pulse” 2024 took place at Eastern International University (EIU). The team comprising students Trịnh Thị Thu Thủy, Phạm Tuấn Kiệt, and Lê Thị Hoài Yến from Group 3 won the first prize.

The Youth Pulse 2024 competition, running from July 22 to August 21, provided a valuable platform for EIU students to expand their understanding of societal issues through their perspectives. Additionally, the competition aimed to enhance students’ critical thinking, analytical skills, and presentation abilities.

Teams competed in the debate sessions

This year’s competition was structured into three rounds (Preliminary Round, Skills Workshop, and Final Round). In the Final Round, teams drew lots for a topic and presented their debates in English before the judges. The topics were diverse, covering areas such as Higher Education, Artificial Intelligence, Sustainability, Climate Change, Technology, and Social Media.

After nearly three hours of competition, the judges identified not only the winning team but also the runners-up based on criteria like content and ideas, language and style, and creativity.
