On September 9th, Eastern International University (EIU) held an orientation program for the new students of the 2024 academic year. This event aimed to help students quickly adapt to the university environment and prepare for their academic journey ahead.
The program was attended by Dr. Ngo Minh Duc – President of EIU, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Huy – Vice President, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Trong – Vice President, along with the leaders of various departments and specialized units of the university.

In his speech at the program, Dr. Ngo Minh Duc, President of EIU, welcomed all the new students who chose EIU as the starting point for their university education. Dr. Duc emphasized that English is a crucial “key” for opening doors to future career opportunities. Therefore, students should focus on their English studies, actively engage in learning, and apply their knowledge throughout their time at the university. He also shared insights about the university environment and encouraged students to adapt to the new setting, openly discuss any difficulties they encounter to receive support and guidance from faculty and staff. Additionally, he offered words of encouragement and inspiration, urging the new students to contribute positively to the community alongside the university.

Following the speeches, the new students received information from the leaders of various university departments, including the Office of Student Affairs, Office of Academic Affairs, Office of Testing, Office of International Affairs, Office of Community Engagement, Office of Quality Assurance, English Center, and Library. These departments play a crucial role in supporting students in academic and personal aspects, as well as providing guidance on internships, international student exchanges, and community service activities.

The orientation program for new students will span three weeks, featuring a variety of activities. In the coming days, new students will participate in department-specific welcome programs based on their respective fields of study. Additionally, they will engage in specialized topics such as university learning methods, English learning strategies, online security and safety, student health and insurance, and internship opportunities with businesses.
