As part of the expanded cooperation between Khon Kaen University (KKU) and Eastern International University (EIU), an interesting and beneficial internship program has been coordinated by the School of Nursing of EIU in conjunction with Becamex International Hospital (BIH) for nursing students from KKU. The program not only provides opportunities for learning and enhancing knowledge and skills in the field of Nursing but also creates conditions for students from both institutions to share, interact, and learn from each other’s experiences and cultures.
From April 23, 2024, to May 16, 2024, the students began a four-week practical journey in departments including Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, and Obstetrics and Gynecology at Becamex International Hospital.
This program is not only an opportunity for practical training but also a chance for students to engage with practical knowledge and professional working procedures in nursing at the hospital. KKU students are directly guided by EIU lecturers along with the support of doctors and nurses at BIH to equip them with necessary skills for safe and effective patient care.

For KKU students, this is also an opportunity to hone their English communication skills and apply them in interacting with patients. BIH nurses will provide translation assistance to help students gather patient information, understand their causes and issues, and thereby develop comprehensive care plans centered around the patients.
In addition to bedside training, KKU students also receive direct English-language teaching from BIH doctors, providing them with specialized knowledge and practical skills to apply in patient care processes.
This program is not only an opportunity for cultural exchange between Thai and Vietnamese students but also an important step in preparing for the future careers of students in an international environment. The internship program has reached nearly half of its duration, and it is hoped that students will continue to demonstrate a positive learning spirit, and the knowledge and experiences they gain will be valuable assets for their future.
