The contest was organized to provide a creative playground for EIU students to design lucky money envelopes that are both aesthetically pleasing and meaningful in preparation for the upcoming Lunar New Year of the Snake and to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of EIU.
In an interview with the university’s Office Corporate Communications , Comrade Nguyen Le Ngoc Long, Secretary of the EIU Youth Union, shared: The winning lucky money envelope designs from this year’s contest will be printed and sold to contribute to the “Sharing Tet Fund”. This fund will be used to provide Tet gifts for students staying far from home during the holiday, as well as for underprivileged, orphaned, and disabled children at shelters in Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province.”
The Lucky Money Envelope Design Contest is one of four activities under the “Spring Volunteer Campaign” 2025, initiated by the EIU Youth Union to encourage students and youth members to engage in volunteer activities during the Lunar New Year. The campaign highlights the spirit of community service and care for disadvantaged individuals during the holiday season. In addition to the Lucky Money Envelope Design Contest, the EIU Youth Union will also organize the “Loving Tet: Charity Music Night to Raise Funds for Tet Gifts,” the “Sharing Tet” program, and the “Meaningful Tet” program in the near future.
