On June 30, 2023, Eastern International University (EIU) held the Opening Ceremony for the Cyber Security Center. The event was attended by Ms. Ikuko Kobayashi, Chairwoman of ARIS Corporation (Japan), Mr. Yutaka Ueda, CEO of ARIS Corporation (Japan), Mr. Tran Tuan Nhat, CEO of ARIS Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Tan Loi, EIU Chairman, and Dr. Ngo Minh Duc, the EIU President, as well as members of the Board of President, leaders, faculty members, specialists from various departments of the University.
In 2022, EIU and ARIS Japan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a cooperative agreement between the two entities. The aim of this is to create an environment for students, faculty, and partnering businesses to study, collaborate, conduct research, and receive practical training with the latest technologies. As a result, the two entities agreed to establish the Cyber Security Center at EIU. Leveraging the university’s strengths in training and research in the field of Information Technology and Communication, along with the support from ARIS Company, the Cyber Security Center will serve as a training ground for students on topics related to cybersecurity. It will also organize workshops and training programs for various disciplines, conduct research projects for faculty and student initiatives, and facilitate research collaborations between students and faculty members on cybersecurity topics. Additionally, the center will serve as a platform for knowledge updates and technology transfer in the areas of safety and information security for the community.
Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Dr. Ngo Minh Duc emphasized that the future goal of the Cyber Security Center is not only to provide a conducive environment for students to study, practice, and research the latest technologies, but also to expand cooperation with business partners to undertake projects, provide solutions, training, and transfer of new technologies related to cyber security.
During the event, Ms. Ikuko Kobayashi, Chairwoman of ARIS Corporation, highlighted that ARIS will accompany the University in developing the Cyber Security Center, contributing to the training and supply of high-quality human resources to meet societal demands.
The Cyber Security Center, being a testament to the effective collaboration between EIU and ARIS Corporation, marks a new milestone in the relationship between the two entities. The center will serve as a foundation for EIU to generate positive values in the field of Information Technology and Communication, serving teaching, learning, research, and application activities for both faculty members and students of the University, as well as the wider community in the field of cyber security.
