EIU Partners with Enterprises for Effective Digital Transformation Solutions

In today’s rapidly evolving industrial landscape, digital transformation has become a critical necessity for businesses seeking stability and growth. However, the journey towards digital transformation presents numerous challenges, ranging from macroeconomic factors to organizational culture, policies, and leadership commitment.

As an institution developed by Becamex IDC Corporation with a mission to serve the community, Eastern International University (EIU) plays a key role in training a high-quality workforce to meet the demands of sustainable socio-economic development in Binh Duong and beyond. EIU is also focused on becoming a research and technology transfer hub that drives economic growth in Vietnam’s southern key economic zone. EIU has established an ecosystem designed to support innovation and learning, including: The Industrial Innovation Center 4.0, The Advanced Manufacturing Center, The Center for Sustainable Solutions, and TechLab and FabLab systems. This ecosystem serves a dual purpose: to create an enriching environment for student research and learning while also equipping businesses with tools to approach digital transformation effectively.

One of EIU’s recent achievements in supporting enterprises was its successful deployment of the Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI) assessment for CAMV Corporation Vietnam, a Singapore-invested company in Long An specializing in component processing services.

Dr. Le Ngoc Huan (standing) – SIRI Assessor; Director of the 4.0 Industrial Innovation Center; Head of the Mechanical and Electronics Department, Faculty of Engineering at EIU, in discussion with business leaders during the evaluation program.

Dr. Le Ngoc Huan, SIRI Assessor, Director of the Industrial Innovation Center 4.0, and Head of the Mechatronics Department at EIU, led the assessment.

He explained: “SIRI evaluates enterprises based on three key pillars: Processes, Technology, and Organization. The insights from this assessment help us recommend specific digital transformation strategies aligned with the company’s developmental goals.”

The evaluation process is conducted in three stages, with tailored methodologies for each pillar. For the Organization pillar, for instance, assessments focus on workforce training, leadership capacity, and strategic vision.

Dr. Le Ngoc Huan and the EIU expert team survey the actual operations of CAMV.

Through this assessment, EIU provided actionable recommendations to CAMV to enhance its processes, systems, and workforce capabilities, facilitating a successful digital transformation journey.

Dr. Huan emphasized: “Our goal is to help businesses not only implement digital tools but also align their human resources and systems to thrive in a digital-first world.” EIU plans to expand its SIRI assessment services to businesses within and beyond Binh Duong, reinforcing its commitment to supporting Vietnam’s industrial modernization and global competitiveness.

This initiative underscores EIU’s dedication to bridging academia and industry, fostering sustainable innovation, and empowering enterprises to navigate the complexities of digital transformation.
