In his opening speech, Dr. Ngô Minh Đức – President of EIU warmly welcomed and congratulated the students on officially becoming members of the EIU family. Dr. Ngô Minh Đức shared that by joining EIU, the students have become a part of the innovative ecosystem in the heart of the Smart City – Bình Dương Innovation Zone, which was honored as the TOP 1 Smart Community by the World Smart Community Forum (ICF) in 2023, after three consecutive years of ranking in the TOP 7. Bình Dương is now one of the leading economic and industrial development centers in Vietnam, ranking in the top 3 nationwide for FDI attraction and having the highest per capita income in the country. As part of its new development phase, outlined in Bình Dương’s master plan until 2030 with a vision to 2050, the province has committed to continuous efforts towards sustainable development through science, technology, and innovation. At the core of this strategy is attracting and developing high-quality human resources, with EIU playing a pivotal role.

To help you confidently join multinational work environments upon graduation and become global citizens, the University remains steadfast with a minimum English language requirement of IELTS 6.0 as a graduation standard, which is among the highest English language standards in Vietnamese universities today. I firmly believe that foreign languages will open many doors for you in the future. Therefore, I encourage you to overcome this initial challenge at EIU. Above all, I want to affirm EIU’s commitment to continuously providing all conditions to support and accompany you on your upcoming journey,” emphasized the President of EIU.

Sharing an inspiring message with the new students of EIU’s 15th cohort at the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Vũ Quang Huy – Chairman of the Board and CEO of Tekcom Group, stated: “We are living in a world full of volatility and competition, a world that has entered a new phase, known as TUNA – which stands for a world that is Turbulent, Uncertain, Novel, and Ambiguous. In this context, the difference comes not only from knowledge but also from how you use, develop, and transform that knowledge into your own advantage. To truly succeed and overcome challenges, you need to build your personal competitive edge. I want to share with you 3 core elements that create the uniqueness of every individual: Self-awareness, Continuous learning and adaptability, and Building a network and sharing values.

The journey ahead will not only be full of opportunities but also challenges. But by building a personal competitive advantage, you will be able to overcome difficulties and create your own distinctiveness. Remember, success does not come from following the crowd, but from understanding yourself and persistently developing your personal values,” Mr. Vũ Quang Huy, CEO of Tekcom Group, encouraged the new students at EIU.

With a score of 28.1 in the national high school graduation exam, Lê Anh Tiến – a former student of Nguyễn Khuyến Secondary and High School – achieved the remarkable distinction of being the top scorer upon entering EIU. Sharing at the opening ceremony, Lê Anh Tiến expressed: “I think everyone will make their own choice about their dream university, and I’m no exception. I chose EIU as the next step in my educational journey because, in addition to having a dynamic learning environment, modern facilities, and an internationally accredited curriculum, EIU inspires and nurtures students’ potential, helping them leverage their strengths and individual values. From there, we can contribute positively to the community, regional economic development, and beyond, to the nation.”

In addition to the formal opening ceremony held at the WTC, EIU organized the EIU Festivals 2024 – a celebration welcoming the new students to the university campus. The festival featured a variety of exciting cultural and entertainment activities, creating a joyful and inspiring atmosphere for a fresh start.

One of the highlights of this year’s EIU Festivals was the much-anticipated “Unitour” series of the The Moneyverse journey. This program, initiated by VTV Newspaper – Vietnam Television, provided valuable insights into finance and life, offering students a unique perspective. By participating in this event, students had the opportunity to learn in an engaging and creative way, gaining useful knowledge on financial concepts.

EIU believes that the 2024-2025 academic year opening ceremony is an opportunity to inspire students, encourage creativity, and fuel their desire to contribute, marking a new step in the university’s educational collaborations and efforts to develop a high-quality workforce.
