Ceremony of Awarding Certificates of Program Accreditation and Announcement of New Programs, & Strategic Partnerships Signing Ceremony

On May 29th,2024,  Eastern International University (EIU) solemnly organized the Ceremony of Awarding Certificates of Program Accreditation and Announcement of New Programs, & Strategic Partnerships Signing Ceremony. 

Attending the program, representing Becamex IDC were Mr. Nguyễn Văn Hùng – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Becamex IDC; Mr. Phạm Ngọc Thuận – General Director of Becamex IDC; Mr. Nguyễn Văn Thanh Huy – Deputy General Director of Becamex IDC. From the Center for Accreditation of Education Quality at VNU-HCM and the External Evaluation Team, there were Associate Professor Dr Lê Ngọc Quỳnh Lam – Director of thethe Center for Accreditation of Education Quality at VNU-HCM; Mr. Lã Hoài Tuấn – Office Manager of the Center; Associate Professor Dr Đinh Đức Anh Vũ – Vice President of IU; Mr Lâm Tường Thoại – Former Head of the Commendation and Reward Board, VNU-HCM. 

Representatives from various businesses and strategic partners included leaders from Vietnam Technology and Communication Corporation; Becamex Tokyu JSC; Mỹ Phước General Hospital; Becamex International Hospital; Cicor Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Bonfiglioli Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Autotech Machinery Manufacturing Company; Ecco Vietnam Co., Ltd.; Ashley Furniture Company; and Omron Company.

From EIU, there were Mr. Nguyễn Tấn Lợi – Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Ngô Minh Đức – President of EIU; Dr. Nguyễn Ngọc Huy – Vice President; Dr. Nguyễn Thanh Trọng – Vice President, along with leaders from departments, centers, faculty members, and students of the university.

Mr. Nguyễn Tấn Lợi – EIU Chairman delivered the opening speech

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyễn Tấn Lợi – EIU Chairman, stated: “Throughout more than 13 years of establishment and development, with the mission of elevating knowledge to serve the community, EIU has continuously affirmed its commitment to being a modern, prestigious, and quality university closely associated with addressing the needs of the business community, serving the direction of smart and sustainable development of Bình Dương province.”

At EIU, quality has always been the highest commitment to the community and society. The university continuously strives to build a quality culture in all its activities. Today, EIU has achieved an important milestone as the two final training programs of the university have been certified for quality by the Center for Accreditation of Education Quality at VNU-HCM, the leading quality assurance center in the country. This certification result not only objectively reflects the quality of EIU’s training programs to stakeholders but also serves as a driving force for the university to continue aiming for higher goals in ensuring quality – Mr. Nguyễn Tấn Lợi added.

At the event, Associate Professor Dr. Lê Ngọc Quỳnh Lam – Director of theCenter for Accreditation of Education Quality at VNU-HCM , awarded the Quality Assurance Certificates for 02 training programs of EIU, including the Electrical Engineering and Data communications and Computer Networks, both at the undergraduate level.

Speaking at the Announcement Ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Lê Ngọc Quỳnh Lam – Director of the Center for Accreditation of Education Quality at VNU-HCM, stated: “With a 100% achievement rate of all required criteria for both programs, this is a remarkable result and a source of great pride for EIU in its training program certification efforts. With these results, the university has two training programs nationwide that meet the absolute criteria of the MOET standards during the assessment. Currently, there are over 1200 training programs nationwide recognized for meeting quality standards, but only 07 programs achieve absolute scores, and among them, EIU has 02 programs.”

The standards delve into specific contents such as: Program objectives and outcomes; Program description; Structure and content of the curriculum; Approaches to teaching and learning; Assessment of student learning outcomes; Faculty and researchers; Staff; Students and student support activities; Facilities and equipment; Enhancing quality and outcomes – emphasized by the Director of the Center for Accreditation of Education Quality at VNU-HCM. 

Dr. Ngô Minh Đức – President of EIU announced and introduced some general information about the next 02 training fields of the university.

Continuing the program, Dr. Ngô Minh Đức – President of EIU announced and introduced some general information about the next 02 training fields of the university. Specifically, the Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering program at EIU meets high-quality training standards, built on the framework of Electrical & Computer Engineering programs that have been ABET accredited at leading engineering universities in the United States. In addition, the program has rich and in-depth laboratories and workshops to serve the teaching activities of 05 typical majors such as Electrical & Electronics Workshop, Fabrication Laboratory, Electronics Lab, Microprocessors Lab, Communication Systems Lab, IC Design Lab, Embedded Systems Lab, RF Engineering & Antenna Lab, Signal & Image Processing Lab.

Regarding the Mechanical Engineering program, the Principal of EIU stated: “The training orientation of majors in Mechanical Engineering includes: Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Energy Systems. This is a program with a well-designed curriculum balancing theoretical and practical content based on ABET standards, competency standards, and program frameworks of American universities.”

One of the highlights of the 02 certified programs is that graduates must achieve an IELTS English standard of 6.0. With the English standard set as above, students of the university will have a significant competitive advantage and easily adapt to the working environment after graduation.

Also in the program, the University Board of Directors awarded certificates and flowers to the program development teams as well as outstanding individuals involved in the certification of training programs.

Continuing the program this morning, EIU signed strategic partnerships with 6 enterprises, including: Ashley Furniture Industries, Cicor, Autotech, Ecco, Omron, and Bonfigioli, opening up opportunities for mutual cooperation in many areas between the parties, especially in training, scientific research, internships, and employment for EIU students after graduation.
