Our Nurses, Our Future, The Economic Power Of Care

This was the message that the lecturers and students of the School Of Nursing at Eastern International University (EIU) aimed to convey during the celebration of International Nurses Day held on May 12th. This annual event organized by the School Of Nursing commemorates the contributions of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

The event was attended by Dr. Nguyễn Thanh Trọng, Vice President of EIU; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thị Đoàn Hương, Dean of the School Of Nursing; MSc. Trần Thị Thuận, Vice Dean of the School Of Nursing; as well as lecturers and students from the school.

In the opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thị Đoàn Hương honored the valuable contributions and silent dedication of nurses in Vietnam and worldwide in caring for people’s health. She also highly praised the achievements of the school’s lecturers and students in scientific research, teaching, and learning. On this occasion, she expressed her hope that the School Of Nursing would continue to build on these achievements and make significant contributions to the national healthcare system.

During the event, lecturers and students of the School Of Nursing reflected on the formation and development of the nursing profession in Vietnam and globally. They also supported the message “Our Nurses, Our Future, The Economic Power Of Care” issued by the International Council of Nurses for this year’s International Nurses Day. 

The lecturers and students of the School Of Nursing conducted a candle-lighting ceremony to honor Florence Nightingale’s significant contributions to medicine.

Through the light of the candles, the leadership of the School Of Nursing hoped to inspire and motivate students with a sense of pride and passion for the nursing profession.
