Students from Nanyang Polytechnic (Singapore) take a three-month internship program at Eastern International University

Ten students from Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) will undertake a three-month internship program at the Industry 4.0 Innovation and Creativity Center, Eastern International University (EIU). This initiative is one of the outcomes following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions.

The NYP students have been divided into four groups, with an average of 2 to 3 students per group. Each group will be directly supervised and instructed by faculty members from the School of Engineering to ensure the successful completion of their pre-registered projects.

The projects undertaken by the students at EIU are considered to be highly innovative and application-oriented. Additionally, the scientific content of each project is deemed challenging for the students. Specific project topics include “Control for Mobile Robot Navigation,” “Digitizing Traditional Machines,” “Design and Build a Smart Dashboard,” and “Design Android App Interface for Smart Warehouse.”

Students from NYP learned at EIU

Upon completion of the internship program at EIU around the end of June 2024, the projects will be evaluated by faculty members from the School of Engineering based on predefined criteria, ranging from technical quality to the complexity of each project. The results will then be sent directly to Nanyang Polytechnic to assist in the students’ future academic endeavours.

Sharing his teaching experience with the NYP engineering students, Dr. Lê Ngọc Huẩn, Director of the Industry 4.0 Innovation and Creativity Center and Head of the Mechanical – Mechatronics Department at EIU, expressed his objective assessment of the students’ capabilities. He noted that the students demonstrated good learning abilities, deep knowledge in their respective fields, and a positive attitude towards learning, which is highly appreciated by the teaching staff.

In the coming period, in addition to their project work at the Center, the ten NYP students are expected to participate in various learning activities such as company visits, talks by industry experts, etc., to gain insights into the learning and working environment at EIU and the Vietnamese culture and people in general.
