The Chairman of Sembcorp Industries, Mr. Tow Heng Tan, recently visited and worked at the Eastern International University (EIU) as part of his business trip to Becamex IDC Corporation on March 9th.
During this visit to EIU, besides the newly appointed Chairman of Sembcorp Industries, the delegation included Mr. Robert Chong – Chief Corporate & Human Resource Officer of Sembcorp Industries; Mr. Lee Ark Boon – CEO of Sembcorp Urban; Ms. Emily Pham – CFO of Sembcorp Urban; Mr. Nguyễn Phú Thịnh – General Director of VSIP Group; Mr. Sean Lim – Deputy General Director and CFO of VSIP Group; Mr. Vũ Quang Vinh – Deputy General Director of VSIP Group; and Mr. Trần Quốc Quang – Deputy General Director of VSIP Group.
Welcoming the delegation on behalf of Becamex IDC Corporation were Mr. Nguyễn Văn Hùng – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Becamex IDC, along with leaders of various levels and specialised units of the Corporation. Representing EIU were Dr. Ngô Minh Đức – the President, along with the leaders of various departments and offices.

Dr. Ngô Minh Đức, the President of EIU, expressed his honour in welcoming Mr. Tow Heng Tan to EIU, emphasising the university’s mission to educate a high-quality workforce to meet the urgent requirements for sustainable economic and social development in Bình Dương province and beyond. EIU, invested by Becamex IDC, aims to become a centre for scientific research, application, and technology transfer, contributing to the economic and social development of the Southern key economic region and the country. Dr. Đức highlighted EIU’s educational philosophy, focusing on “Humanity – Community – Creativity – Sustainability,” aiming not only to educate but also to inspire and enable students to realise their potential and contribute new values to the community and economic-social development.
Mr. Alexious Oh shared information about the Vietnam – Singapore Innovation Center
During the visit, Mr. Alexious Oh, Vice Director of the Vietnam – Singapore Innovation Center and Vice Director of Office of Community Engagement at EIU, shared information about the role of EIU in supplying high-quality human resources to the Becamex ecosystem. He introduced the Vietnam – Singapore Innovation Center and its affiliated centres, such as the Center for Sustainable Solutions, the Industrial 4.0 Innovation Center, the Cybersecurity Center, and the Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC).
At the program, Mr. Tow Heng Tan and his delegation also toured EIU’s facilities, laboratories, classrooms, and learning environment./.
