On November 27, 2023, Eastern International University (EIU) collaborated with the Center for Accreditation of Education Quality at VNU-HCM to organize the official opening of the quality accreditation survey for two training programs: Electrical Engineering, Computer Networks and Data Communication according to the standards for evaluating the quality of undergraduate education levels set by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Participating in the program were MSc. Ho Dac Hai Mien – Deputy Director of the Center for Education Accreditation – VNU-HCM; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu – Vice President in charge of the International University, VNU-HCM, Head of the External Evaluation Team (EET); MSc. Pham Thi Bich – Deputy Director of the Center for Educational Testing and Quality Assessment VNU-HCM, Secretary; MSc. Lam Tuong Thoai – Former Head of the Emulation – Reward Board, VNU-HCM, Permanent Member; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hong Sinh – Former Dean, Library and Information Technology Department, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM, Member.

In the opening speech, Dr. Ngo Minh Duc, EIU president, expressed gratitude to the Center for Accreditation of Education Quality at VNU-HCM and the External Evaluation Team for undertaking the quality assessment activities for the two training programs at EIU. Dr. Ngo Minh Duc also conveyed the university’s desire for the External Evaluation Team to provide appropriate recommendations to help the university enhance the quality of education in the future. During this occasion, EIU president shared information about the university, including educational philosophy, mission, vision, currently offered programs, and the learning environment. Special emphasis was given to the Innovation and Industry 4.0 Ecosystem with eight key elements such as Fablab, Becamex Business Incubator, Industrial 4.0 Innovation Center, and Advanced Manufacturing Center.
Following the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Hoai Nghia, Dean of the School of Engineering, and Dr. Huynh Tan Phuoc, the Head of the Computer Network & Data Communication Department, School of Computing and Information Technology, presented an overview of the school and the curriculum for each program to the External Evaluation Team.

At the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu, Vice President in charge of the International University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, and the Head of the External Evaluation Team, expressed gratitude to EIU for trusting, selecting, and effectively collaborating with the Center to implement the program for evaluating the quality of the undergraduate programs. He also requested the cooperation of EIU and relevant units and individuals to ensure the successful completion of the External Evaluation Team’s mission during their time at the university. The closing ceremony for the official quality assessment of the two training programs is scheduled to take place on November 30.

After the opening ceremony, the External Evaluation Team proceeded to examine the evidence files of the two programs while also conducting surveys of specialized units within the university. Additionally, they conducted interviews with the leadership and support team of the university.
