On November 22, the School of Engineering of Eastern International University, in collaboration with Omron Vietnam Company, organized the seminar ‘Omron Industrial Automation Solutions.’
Attending the seminar from Omron Vietnam were Mr. Huynh Ha Vinh Phuc – Assistant Director, Technical and Automation Solutions Department, and Mrs. Nguyen Thi My Ngoc – Business Development Department. Representing the university were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Hoai Nghia – Dean of School of Engineering, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Hung – Vice Dean of the School of Engineering, Director of Fablab, Dr. Le Ngoc Huan – Head of the Mechanical – Electronics Department, Director of the 4.0 Industrial Innovation Center, along with lecturers, students of the department, as well as esteemed enterprises and partners of the department.

In his opening speech for the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Hoai Nghia mentioned that Omron is a global leader in the field of automation, and its products are present in various sectors, ranging from industrial automation and electronic components to societal systems, including automatic ticket gates, energy-efficient air conditioning systems, and healthcare. Through the workshop, the leadership of the School of Engineering hopes this is an opportunity for faculty, specialists, and students of the department to access technology related to artificial intelligence in industrial production and to engage in knowledge exchange and experience enhancement with experts from Omron Vietnam Company.

At the program, Mr. Huynh Ha Vinh Phuc provided information to the university’s faculty, specialists, and students, as well as businesses, about the formation and development process, products, and technologies of Omron Company. Specifically, the workshop serves as a bridge between three parties: Eastern International University, Omron Vietnam Company, and partner businesses in terms of recruitment, providing high-quality personnel, staying updated on industry trends, technology transfer, and scientific research collaboration.
During this occasion, experts from Omron Vietnam Company shared insights at the workshop regarding the special functions of COBOT, including collaborative mode and the integrated camera function, SYSMAC (PLC + Motion), and various sensor devices. COBOT is an intelligent robot that performs tasks with human collaboration. Therefore, COBOT differs from fully automated robots in that it can be programmed and operate in collaboration with humans.
