EIU School of Computing Information Technology Welcomes New Students of 2023

Recently, new students of the EIU School of Computing Information Technology participated in an orientation session with their lecturers, senior students, and alumni. The program not only served as an open space for students to meet their professors but also provided an opportunity for them to connect, exchange ideas, and build a supportive learning community for their upcoming academic journey.

During the session, students were introduced to key information about the School, including the study roadmap, learning methods, graduation requirements, English programs, as well as the opportunities, challenges, and future trends of the information technology field. They also learned about the advantages that EIU IT students have after graduation. Understanding the needs of the labor market and the importance of practical learning, the School of Information Technology focuses strongly on experiential education through company visits, internships, and especially project-based collaborations with businesses throughout the students’ study period. In addition, the School encourages and supports students to participate in academic and applied competitions at both national and international levels, as well as to conduct research projects with faculty members and industry partners. In fact, many students from the School have secured jobs in their field of study even before graduation.

Furthermore, to provide students with valuable insights into their learning journey and professional development at EIU, the orientation featured a sharing session with current students and alumni. They offered useful advice on academic engagement, participation in extracurricular and student union activities, and encouraged open communication with lecturers to address learning challenges. They also emphasized the importance of improving English proficiency to work confidently in any environment.

Throughout the event, students actively engaged by asking questions to lecturers, enthusiastically joining interactive games, and receiving many exciting gifts.
