At Eastern International University (EIU), Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA), Ministry of Science and Technology, and BK Holdings co-hosted an e-conference on July 6 to connect Vietnamese ICT startups with domestic and foreign groups of startups.
The connecting and investment promotion conference were attended by Mr. Tran Van Tung, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, ministerial officials, executives from investment funds, and representatives of the Departments of Science and Technology of Thua Thien – Hue and Binh Duong provinces. Other participants were IT experts and consultants, groups of startups from Taiwan (China), Malaysia, and the Silicon Valley.
Also joining the event were EIU lecturers and students, as well as members in the EIU startup ecosystem. As a pioneer in establishing and developing startup and innovation ecosystems, EIU facilitates a great deal of work in the ecosystem, provides entrepreneurship knowledge, holds workshops and training programs, makes facilities available, and opens working spaces for startups.
At the conference, guest speakers and delegates presented different topics, discussed ways to boost connections and investments among startups. The event also spent time discussing support for local entrepreneurs, trends in technology startups; sharing experience in promoting and investing in technology startups in Taiwan and Malaysia.
Addressing the event, Phan Thi Thuy Trang from the Binh Duong Department of Science and Technology highlighted the role of the Triple Helix Model of “Government – Enterprises – Universities” in the development of the provincial startup innovation ecosystem. She praised EIU’s efforts in building and developing an innovation ecosystem in the province that includes Becamex Business Incubator (BBI), EIU Fablab Manufacturing Experiment Center (EIU Fablab), and 4.0 Technology Experiment Center (Lab 4.0).
*The conference also got to know experience and sharing from Vinasa Connect and IT consultants from established businesses like Misa, VTI Cloud, and MongoDB.
