ABOUT THE SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING

With the mission of training in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Control and Automation Engineering, School of Engineering at Eastern International University (EIU) focuses on enhancing capabilities and creating added value for learners through highly integrated and continuously improved training programs. The programs are designed with a high ratio of experiential learning and practical application based on a system of 15 state-of-the-art laboratories, 3 centers including the Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC), the Industry 4.0 Innovation Center (IIC), the EIU-Sembcorp Sustainable Solutions Center (SSC), open fabrication laboratory (FabLab), and 1 STEM Lab (Science – Technology – Engineering – Mathematics). The programs apply active teaching methods such as project-based learning and community-based learning. They also incorporate closely-knit learning-research activities with businesses and the community, addressing technical issues and meeting the human resource needs of enterprises. The programs are taught by a young, dynamic, and enthusiastic faculty team, including 1 Associate Professor, 11 PhD holders, and 18 Master’s degree holders who have received comprehensive training in various countries such as the United States, France, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and Vietnam. In addition to their specialized knowledge, engineering graduates have English language skills with an IELTS score of 6.0, which is a competitive advantage in seeking high-paying jobs in a multicultural environment and also opens opportunities for postgraduate study in countries with advanced education systems worldwide.

School of Engineering is currently and will continue to strengthen research and technology transfer in areas such as advanced manufacturing technology, Industry 4.0, robotics, smart factories and warehouses, the Internet of Things, deep learning, machine learning, intelligent communication networks, renewable energy, energy conservation, and sustainable solutions to keep pace with the rapidly evolving technological advancements and provide a competitive edge for learners in the global supply chain and value chain.

School of Engineering places a strong emphasis on close collaboration with the business community and partners within the industrial park system, creating opportunities for students to access and experience real-world situations through internships and apprenticeship programs at businesses. Particularly, the faculty actively seeks projects based on the needs of enterprises, in which both lecturers and students participate, helping to enhance problem-solving skills and professional skills for students.

By studying at School of Engineering, Eastern International University, learners have the opportunity to connect and maximize their potential within the innovative ecosystem of Binh Duong, a province with remarkable economic growth, a high proportion of industry, and among the leading localities with dynamic economic development nationwide. Binh Duong is the hub of industrial parks, with exemplary modern industrial park models such as the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Parks (VSIP) (a collaboration between Becamex IDC – Vietnam, and Sembcorp – Singapore) replicated nationwide, attracting significant foreign direct investment (FDI) and creating numerous job opportunities for various localities.

Letter from the Dean

Assoc. Prof Duong Hoai Nghia
Dean School of Engineering

Welcome to the School of Engineering.

Currently, our school has 5 majors: Electrical Engineering, Automation and Control Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The majors have been and will continue to provide talented engineers to the labor market.

The demand for engineers who design, manufacture, operate, maintain electrical, electronic, mechatronic, and automation equipment will continue to increase due to the impact of the ongoing Fourth Industrial Revolution worldwide. Free trade agreements (FTAs) between Vietnam and other countries have triggered a wave of investment relocation to Vietnam, as well as plans to expand the production scale of domestic enterprises. Electrical, electronic, mechatronic, and automation engineers with solid foundational knowledge and strong practical skills always find job opportunities both domestically and internationally.

To help learners achieve a deserving position in the labor market, the School of Engineering has determined the training motto as follows:

  • Help learners have a broad enough foundational knowledge to be able to update their knowledge after graduation, meeting the rapid development of science and technology.
  • Help learners have deep enough specialized knowledge to be able to work immediately after graduation.
  • Help learners excel in practice thanks to a modern laboratory system, a large number of practical hours, and an open laboratory policy.
  • Help learners form and develop research and creative abilities thanks to a system of course projects arranged from basic to advanced throughout the study years.
  • Help learners work domestically and internationally in the era of globalization through the English output standard of IELTS 6.0.

Thanks to a team of lecturers who are highly skilled in their field and enthusiastic in teaching, the students of the faculty have quickly found suitable jobs right after graduation and are always highly regarded by businesses.

Wishing you success in your careers.
