The study program is built by the EIU School of Nursing’s lecturers with suggestions and criticisms from Dr. Turner (University of Minnesota – USA) – an executive committee member of the American Nurses Association. The program has received feedback from experienced nursing lecturers at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City.
The curriculum is designed to align with the national framework of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Health, in accordance with the Competency Standards for Vietnam Nurses, issued together with Decision No. 1352/QD -BYT, April 24, 2012 by the Ministry of Health to meet Asia Pacific and ASEAN requirements. This makes it convenient to compare with other countries’ nursing competency standards.
Students who complete the Bachelor of Nursing program at EIU have opportunities to work in public and private healthcare organizations, especially international hospitals in Vietnam and abroad.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL OF NURSING
The School of Nursing was established with the mission of training a team of highly skilled nurses who are proficient in their professional expertise, equipped with essential practical skills, and fluent in foreign languages. The goal is to prepare graduates to provide comprehensive care for patients and clients, while also empowering them to grow personally and professionally.
PROGRAM HIGHTLIGHTS
At EIU, nursing students are trained to master professional knowledge, obtain professional skills, and apply relevant skills as well as the ability to use English to comprehensively meet requirements for patients/customers care and self-development.
✔ Students are trained in English at the Foreign Language Center to ensure that 100% of students will achieve a minimum IELTS band 6.0 before graduation.
✔ More than 50% of the Nursing program duration at EIU is for pre-clinical practice at the University’s laboratories, hospitals, and healthcare facilities.
👉 From the first year, the University will organize practical experience sessions at Becamex International Hospital so that the new students can have an overview of the hospital environment; learn about the nursing management system, hospital departments; observe the organization and works of nursing staff at the hospital; and learn communication skills to serve patients and their family members.
👉 From year 2 to year 3, students practice nursing skills at the primary medical laboratories and preclinical practice rooms at the university.
👉 Students in the 4th and 5th years are arranged to get clinical internships at medical organizations such as Binh Duong General Hospital, Becamex International Hospital, Children’s Hospital No. 1 in Ho Chi Minh City, and other healthcare facilities.
Students study and improve their skills in experimental rooms and laboratories with modern equipment and facilities, including:
👉 Medical laboratory facilities such as physiology-pathology lab, microbiology-parasitism lab, biochemistry lab, and anatomy practice room.

“During my studies at EIU, I was equipped with both knowledge and skills in healthcare. I also had the opportunity to practice at hospitals and medical centers, interact with many patients, and gain a deeper understanding of the difficulties and pain they experience. Because of this, I was not too unfamiliar with the real working environment after graduation. At EIU, the lecturers delivered professional knowledge, practical skills, and communication skills in a very dedicated and approachable way. This allowed me to quickly grasp and apply them in practice, build trust and cooperation from patients, and ultimately make the care process more effective.”

“Since graduation, I have always followed the development of EIU—the place that provided me with the strongest foundation for my career. I can see that EIU has been steadily expanding its scale and continuously improving the quality of its training, actively adopting and adapting new teaching methods from prestigious universities and experts in developed countries such as Singapore, Thailand, and South Korea. This is especially meaningful as it equips future generations of students with the capabilities needed to meet the increasingly demanding requirements of the labor market, particularly in specialized fields like Nursing.”
