Computer network and communication engineering provide students with necessary knowledge, skills and attitude to overcome technical issues in design, development and security for the Computer system, Wireless sensor network and Internet of Things (IoT). Students are lectured about different communication standards, protocols, network architectures and network models being researched and applied in practice recently. Moreover, many specialized and diverse courses help students expand their knowledge and skills to accurately analyze and evaluate the performance of computer and communication networks and have the ability to learn and research new topics, new developments. Graduates are qualified to work and research effectively in domestic and international environments.

School of Computing and Information Technology was established with a mission to provide high quality human resources for industrial development not only in area but also for key economic regions.

Program Highlights

100% of students will achieve at least IELTS band 6.0 before graduation.

Students will study in a modern environment, with a system of modern practice rooms that meet the requirements of study and research. Furthermore, practice hours account for more than 40%.

Students will have many opportunities to work with faculty members on creative projects, do academic research, and participate in national and international conferences.

Students are facilitated to study and practice at major domestic and international companies starting from the third year.

Program learning outcomes

Upon completing the program, students will achieve:

  • PLO1: Apply knowledge of political theory and social sciences, as well as an understanding of law, to daily life and professional practice; gain knowledge of national defense and security to foster patriotism; apply knowledge of physical training for personal health improvement.

  • PLO2: Apply fundamental knowledge of natural sciences and foundational knowledge of the discipline to analyze and solve problems related to Computer Engineering and Data Communication.

  • PLO3: Design, implement, and evaluate solutions related to the field to meet industry requirements.

  • PLO4: Communicate effectively in professional contexts.

  • PLO5: Work effectively as a member or leader of a team in carrying out tasks related to the discipline.

  • PLO6: Proficiently use modern equipment and essential software tools in the field.

  • PLO7: Demonstrate personal and collective responsibility, community service awareness, and professional ethics.

  • PLO8: Engage in self-learning and self-research to develop professional skills and entrepreneurial capacity in the field of Information and Communication Technology.

Foreign Language Requirement: Graduates must achieve a minimum English proficiency of IELTS 6.0 (as stipulated in the Undergraduate Credit-based Training Regulation issued under Decision No. 299/QĐ-ĐHQTMĐ dated October 14, 2022).

Students after graduation have many opportunities to work in many fields such as analytics; network design and implementation; cloud computing systems; Internet of Things (IoT); project management in the information technology area; operation, administration and security of network and communication systems; design, installation and maintenance of data network systems for companies, wireless sensor networks and IoT.

Moreover, students can continue with post-graduate degrees in Vietnam and other countries, or they can establish their own business in computer network and communication engineering.
