Dr Samarjit Roy is currently working as a Lecturer in SCIT, Eastern International University, Vietnam. He served as an Associate Professor & Head-AIML in the dept. of CSE, JIS Group, Kolkata, India and an Assistant Professor in the SCSEA, Dept of Computer Science and Engineering at D Y Patil International University, Pune, India. He worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Centre of Informatics and Computing, Ruđer Bošković Institute, Zagreb, Croatia.

He was the recipient of prestigious Junior and Senior Research Fellowships under the UGC, Govt. of India in the department of Computer Science and Engineering, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal, India. He received the Ph. D in Computer Science and Engineering on Intelligent Musical Pattern Recognition and Information Retrieval from MAKAUT-WB, India. He also served as an Assistant Professor and Dept. in-Charge in the department of Computer Science and Engineering, Techno India Silli, Ranchi, IN. He completed his M. Tech in Information Technology from Manipal Institute of Technology, Gangtok, India and B. Tech in Information Technology from Govt. College of Engineering and Leather Technology, Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

His research areas include Musical Pattern Recognition, Information Retrieval, Context-aware recommender systems, Speech, Audio and Signal Processing, Cloud-Dew-Edge-Fog (CDEF) computing, Soft Computing, Machine-Deep-Representation Learning, Internet of Music Things, Internet of Sounds, Internet of Behaviours, and Sustainable Computing. He has published more than 85 research articles, books, book chapters etc. in numerous reputed National and International journals, conferences, and other eminent publication societies. He has achieved several International and National research awards, viz., Young Scientist awards, research excellence awards, best paper and presentation awards, and so forth, in the field of Intelligent Musical Pattern Recognition and Information Retrieval. He has organized and participated in numerous National and International conferences, workshops, symposiums, STTPs, and FDPs. He has been working as a Visiting Scientist at CICC, MMU, Malaysia, and PDF at LU, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He has been serving as the guest editor in the IEEE Transaction on Consumer Electronics. He is a Life Fellow of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) India, senior member of IEEE, ComSoc R10, member of IEEE URSI InRaSS, IEEE Dew Computing Society, Soft Computing Research Society (SCRS), and MTTF-IN.
