Dr Nguyen Trinh Minh Anh is a lecturer and researcher specializing in natural resource economics and sustainable development, with a research focus on the social and environmental dimensions of Vietnam’s forestry sector in the post-Đổi mới context. Since 2010, his work has examined the decentralization of forest governance from the state to local authorities and households, highlighting livelihood opportunities and community participation, while also analyzing challenges related to inequality, conflicts of interest, resource degradation, and the effectiveness of forest governance.
He applies theories of natural resource economics and institutional economics to analyze Vietnam’s forestry systems, particularly community forestry and household-based forestry. More recently, his research has expanded to the assessment of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices in forestry, agroforestry, and enterprises in Vietnam, with an emphasis on resource governance, corporate social responsibility, and alignment with national and international policy frameworks and standards.
