On September 23–24, students from Eastern International University (EIU) took part in a field trip to leading organizations in the fields of technology, manufacturing, and education in Singapore, including Palomar Technologies, Sanmina-SCI Systems, Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific, and Nanyang Polytechnic.
Students visited at Nanyang Polytechnic
The trip offered students the opportunity to observe modern production processes, explore creative startup spaces, and experience advanced facilities that closely connect training with real-world practice. It is considered valuable preparation that helps EIU students gain a deeper understanding of the role of technology in sustainable development, as well as the spirit of innovation—the key factor behind Singapore’s global competitiveness.
Sharing her thoughts on the trip, Phung Thi My Ngoc, a student from the School of Business Administration, expressed her impression of the modern machinery systems, practice-oriented learning environment, and green startup initiatives at the organizations. “These experiences allowed me to directly connect what I’ve learned in class with real-world applications, while also inspiring me greatly in terms of innovation and creativity,” My Ngoc said.

In the following days, EIU students will continue their visits and exchanges at leading research, manufacturing, and urban management institutions in Singapore, such as the Advanced Remanufacturing and Technology Centre (ARTC), Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence, Kajima Lab – The GEAR, and the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). They will also visit iconic landmarks including Orchard Road, Merlion Park, Sentosa, the Botanic Gardens, and Fort Canning Park.
Even within the first two days, the study trip has already provided EIU students with new perspectives on technology, manufacturing, and education in Singapore, sparking creativity and offering practical value for their future academic and career journeys.
