On July 16, the Industry 4.0 Innovation Center at Eastern International University (EIU) in collaboration with FESTO Company, organized a seminar titled “Introduction to Industry 4.0 Technologies and Future Technology Trends.” The event attracted a large number of participants, including representatives from businesses, universities, and colleges in Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding areas.

In his opening speech, Dr. Ngô Minh Đức, President of EIU, expressed his belief that the insights shared by FESTO’s experts would provide valuable information on Industry 4.0 technologies to all attendees. He also emphasized that EIU has built an innovation ecosystem with several on-campus centers that support teaching, research, and enterprise training through advanced and specialized programs.

Following the opening, Mr. Trương Ngọc Hoàng, Director of FESTO Vietnam, provided an overview of the company and highlighted FESTO’s strengths in training and technology transfer. His presentation covered advanced training models such as CP Lab, CP Factory, the CIROS simulation system, the FESTO LX digital learning platform, CDTI courses, and cybersecurity solutions for industrial environments. He also stressed FESTO’s vital role in developing high-quality human resources for automation and digital transformation in Vietnam.

Mr. Fou Teck Kong, a FESTO training expert, shared insights with attendees on how the FESTO LX digital learning platform supports educators in integrating modern training content into educational programs. He also introduced the WorldSkills Competition, outlining the benefits of participation, preparation processes, and the opportunities it presents for lecturers and specialists to upgrade their skills to meet international standards.
Dr. Lê Ngọc Huẩn – Director of EIU’s Industry 4.0 Innovation Center presents the SIRI Assessment Framework
On this occasion, Dr. Lê Ngọc Huẩn, Director of EIU’s Industry 4.0 Innovation Center and lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, presented a session titled “Building Smart Factories: The SIRI Framework for the Industry 4.0 Journey.” He introduced SIRI (Smart Industry Readiness Index) a framework developed in Singapore and currently adopted in over 60 countries – which assesses an enterprise’s readiness for digital transformation. The tool is based on three core components: process, technology, and organization, and evaluates readiness using four key metrics: customization strategy, global benchmarking, flexible transformation roadmap, and risk mitigation capacity.

In the afternoon, participants took part in a hands-on workshop at the Industry 4.0 Innovation Center, where they experienced modern equipment and machinery used in training and research. They also toured various centers within EIU’s innovation ecosystem, gaining insights into the university’s approach to fostering innovation and technological advancement./.
