Opening of TF SCALE 2025: EIU and SP Drive Innovation for the Community

On the morning of September 23, 2025, Eastern International University (EIU), in collaboration with Singapore Polytechnic (SP), officially launched the TF SCALE 2025 – Phase 2 program. The initiative aims to create a dynamic learning environment, provide real-world experiences, generate positive impacts on the community, and foster exchange and connections between students from both institutions.

Attending the opening ceremony were SP faculty members and TF SCALE 2025 coordinators, including Ms. Soo Bee Hong, Mr. Teo Kian Hun, Mr. Benjamin Lee, along with 29 students from diverse academic backgrounds. On behalf of EIU, faculty members and staff from the Becamex Business School, School of Engineering, Office of Community Engagement, and Office of International Affairs welcomed the delegation, together with 30 EIU students.

In his remarks, the SP representative expressed delight at once again partnering with EIU in this year’s TF SCALE 2025. He also emphasized that Design Thinking would serve as the guiding approach throughout the journey, while encouraging students to work closely together to achieve their common goals. He further expressed his hope that the program would bring meaningful contributions and positive value to the community.

Mr Kieu Manh Kha – Director Office of International Affairs, shared with students about the innovation ecosystem at EIU.

Before officially embarking on their experiential journey, SP students were given an overview of the Innovation Ecosystem at Eastern International University (EIU), with a strong emphasis on the university’s focus on sustainable development solutions. On this occasion, the students also had the opportunity to tour EIU’s learning environment and facilities, including the Library, Cybersecurity Center, Fablab, Sustainable Solutions Center, and the Industry 4.0 Innovation Center, among others.

In the afternoon, SP and EIU students had their first group activity using the Design Thinking approach, guided by SP coordinators. They also listened to data analyses conducted by SP students as part of their program research.

The TF SCALE 2025 program takes place from September 22 to October 3, 2025. Following the opening ceremony, students will be divided into three groups to participate in community projects in Ho Chi Minh City, with each group consisting of 10 EIU students and 10 SP students.

TF SCALE 2025 promises to be an enriching experience for students of both institutions, as they collaborate and work together in a dynamic and creative learning environment. By addressing real-world challenges, students will sharpen their problem-solving skills and strengthen their awareness of initiatives that contribute positively to community development. At the same time, EIU seeks to create opportunities for its students to engage with different cultures through international student exchanges. It is hoped that, by the end of the program, SP and EIU students will not only gain valuable knowledge but also deepen the bonds of friendship between Vietnamese and international students. Furthermore, this occasion also serves as an opportunity for EIU to expand its collaborative ties with SP in particular and with universities in Singapore in general.
