On February 7, the Becamex Business School (BBS) of Eastern International University (EIU) organized the program “Nghề” Talk – Career, Open the door, attracting a large number of BBS students as well as students from other faculties. The event served as a platform connecting students with experts from various fields, offering practical insights into career journeys in today’s evolving professional landscape.
The program was attended by Mr Mai Son Tung – Director, Office of Student Affairs, along with lecturers and staff from the Becamex Business School. Representing the guest speakers, the event welcomed several experienced professionals from diverse fields, including: Mr Do Thanh Phong – former Human Resources Director at METUB Vietnam; Mr Nguyen Thai An – Editor, Commentator, and MC at Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV); Ms Tran Le Thanh Van – Vice Director of Communications and Sustainability at AstraZeneca Vietnam; Mr Chu Vu Thai Son – Head of New Product Development at Omron Vietnam; and Ms To Bao Tran – Vice Director of TOBA Production – Trading Co., Ltd.
Drawing from their own professional journeys, the speakers shared valuable real-world lessons with students about perseverance, adaptability, and resilience in the face of challenges in the labor market. Their career stories not only provided guidance but also inspired students to define their goals and nurture their passions.

Sharing at the program, Mr Nguyen Thai An recalled that during his early days working at HTV, he did not hesitate to take on challenging assignments and was always willing to push himself beyond his comfort zone. According to him, young people should be bold in pursuing opportunities, as the process of gaining real-world experience lays the foundation for future success.
Mr Do Thanh Phong emphasized the importance of career planning for students
From a human resources management perspective, Mr Do Thanh Phong emphasized the importance of career planning. According to him, while the University provides students with a foundational starting point, each student should develop a clear plan for the first five years after graduation. This period is crucial for building competencies and preparing for long-term career development.
Ms Tran Le Thanh Van shared insights on the importance of continuous learning at the event
Continuing the discussion, Ms Tran Le Thanh Van highlighted the importance of continuous learning in today’s modern corporate environment. According to her, students should learn from the work they are doing while also cultivating a flexible mindset to adapt to organizational culture and the constant changes in society.

Meanwhile, Mr Chu Vu Thai Son encouraged students to begin their career journeys by following their aspirations and personal passions. He advised them not to be afraid of challenges, but instead to pursue their dreams by working effectively and dedicating their heart to every responsibility they undertake.

In her discussion with students, Ms To Bao Tran noted that academic knowledge does not always fully reflect real-world practice; therefore, adaptability is a key factor for success. She also emphasized that maintaining a proactive attitude and creating positive value can help young people build stronger connections with the community and society.
During the program, BBS students raised many questions related to career orientation, work pressure, and ways to adapt to the increasingly dynamic labor market. The speakers responded candidly and offered practical suggestions, providing students with valuable perspectives and better preparation for their future careers.
