International Nurses Day 2025: EIU Honors the Valuable Contributions of Nursing Professionals

On May 12, the School of Nursing at Eastern International University (EIU) held a commemorative program for International Nurses Day 2025, spreading the profound and humanitarian message from the International Council of Nurses (ICN): “Our Nurses. Our Future. The Economic Power of Care.”

Dr. Nguyen Thanh Trong – Vice President of EIU, presented flowers to the leadership of the School of Nursing on this special occasion.

The celebration served as an opportunity to honor the silent yet meaningful contributions of nursing professionals in caring for community health both in Vietnam and around the world. It was also an occasion to acknowledge the School of Nursing’s efforts in training high-quality healthcare human resources for Bình Dương Province and the nation.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan Huong – Dean of the School of Nursing, delivered the opening remarks

In her opening speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Doan Huong extended health wishes and congratulations to all lecturers, staff, students of the School of Nursing, as well as nurses from Becamex International Hospital and Mỹ Phước General Hospital on this special day. “International Nurses Day is a time for all of us to sit down, reflect, and revisit the significant role of the nursing profession in Vietnam and abroad. Nurses, beyond their professional duties, are also those who inspire and give hope to patients and families through their care and compassion,” emphasized the Dean of EIU’s School of Nursing.

EIU’s School of Nursing was established with the mission of training nursing professionals who are not only highly skilled and proficient in foreign languages but also deeply committed to serving the community—meeting the comprehensive needs of patient care. The School’s leadership shared that graduates from EIU are equipped with modern medical knowledge, professional practical skills, strong ethical values, and the ability to work in multicultural healthcare environments, from provincial hospitals to international medical institutions.

Speaking at the International Nurses Day celebration, Dr. Nguyễn Thanh Trọng – EIU Vice President, acknowledged and highly appreciated the leadership, lecturers, and staff of the School of Nursing for their significant contributions to the training of human resources in health sciences over the years. EIU considers the development of the nursing discipline one of the university’s strategic missions. In the coming time, the University will continue to make strong investments in education, enhance the quality of faculty, and promote applied research to contribute to solving the demand for high-quality medical human resources in both Bình Dương and across Vietnam.

Alumni and guests shared with students about the current state of the nursing profession

With a curriculum that is constantly updated to align with the practical needs of the healthcare sector, many generations of EIU students have gone on to work at leading hospitals in Vietnam and in countries with advanced healthcare systems such as Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, and Germany. This proves that EIU is on the right track in training nursing professionals and expanding career opportunities for its students.
