Recently, freshmen of the 2025 intake at Eastern International University (EIU) took their English proficiency test at the Foreign Language Center. This is considered an important first step in identifying a suitable language learning pathway, particularly in their journey to conquer IELTS.
Students in the writing test
According to Foreign Language Center, the English proficiency test provides a comprehensive assessment of students’ current abilities across the four skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Based on the results, students are placed into one of five levels. This scientific placement process ensures that students study at the right level—neither overwhelmed during the learning process nor wasting time if their abilities are already advanced. After the test, each student receives clear feedback on their strengths and weaknesses, enabling them to proactively plan their learning journey.
Freshmen at the testing room
The highlight of the Center lies not only in its teaching staff—100% native-speaking instructors—but also in its unique approach. Over the course of approximately 50 weeks, students do not simply study grammar and vocabulary; they are comprehensively equipped with both academic proficiency and practical English skills such as report writing, presentations, discussions, and critical thinking. In addition, the Center features an English Student Care (EESC) unit that closely monitors students’ progress, provides tutoring and personalized guidance, and supports them throughout their learning journey. As a result, students always feel well-supported and directed at the right time.
In today’s context of deepening international integration, English is no longer a competitive advantage but a fundamental requirement. By prioritizing the development of Foreign Language Center – through a robust curriculum, highly qualified teaching staff, and comprehensive support system – EIU demonstrates its strong commitment to preparing students with solid language competencies.
