Exploring Japanese Culture through Calligraphy – Shodō: A Meaningful Experience for EIU Students

On September 11, the Foreign Languages Center at Eastern International University (EIU) organized the workshop “Japanese Calligraphy – Shodō”, which attracted enthusiastic participation from EIU students.

Within the framework of the workshop, EIU students had the opportunity to learn and practice directly under the guidance of Japanese language lecturers from the Center for Foreign Languages. Each student created their own unique calligraphy piece, allowing them to gain a deeper appreciation of Japanese culture and spirit.

Beyond exploring a unique form of art, the workshop also provided students with an opportunity to cultivate patience, concentration, and aesthetic appreciation. With the participation of international students from Japan, the event became a chance for students to exchange, connect with peers who share the same passion, and contribute to building a dynamic, multicultural learning community at EIU.
