From May to August 2025, Eastern International University (EIU) is pleased to welcome two students from Singapore Management University (SMU) for a specialized internship program at EIU’s Industry 4.0 Innovation Center (IIC).
During their internship, Piao TaiLin and Gavin Ng Kar Swee will work alongside the IIC team on real-world digitalization projects related to digital transformation in manufacturing and service enterprises. These projects aim to implement highly applicable technological solutions and develop digital infrastructure within the university, including smart building management systems, environmental monitoring, and the integration of IoT and artificial intelligence (AI) into practical contexts.
Piao TaiLin is responsible for Frontend Development, designing and developing modern, user-friendly interfaces for web platforms and applications, ensuring a seamless connection between the server system and the user experience. Meanwhile, Gavin Ng Kar Swee will take on the role of Backend Developer, focusing on server-side development, API design, database management, and ensuring system security and stability.

This internship not only provides an in-depth learning experience for the SMU students but also expands the academic and technological exchange between EIU and international students.
