The EIU student team presented before the Judges at the event

In the first round, each team was given an investment account worth VND 20 million and required to trade continuously for five weeks in a real market environment. This stage saw strong market fluctuations, demanding teams to maintain discipline and stay committed to their strategies. By adhering closely to their portfolio, keeping strict trading discipline, and applying solid risk-management principles, the EIU team achieved one of the best performances and advanced to the Top 5, earning a spot in the presentation round. In the final round, the team presented an investment strategy built on the Top-Down model, analyzing economic conditions from the macro level down to industries and individual companies. The Q&A session was intense, as judges posed in-depth, highly technical questions that required the team to demonstrate strong analytical thinking and logical reasoning akin to that of professional analysts.

The Judges addressed their questions to the EIU student team

Sharing after the competition, student Chan Yee Lun said the most valuable takeaway was not the ranking itself, but the practical feedback from industry experts on investment mindset, problem-solving approaches, and analytical skills in the financial field. The team’s coordination and clear division of roles were also key factors that helped them maintain stable performance throughout the competition.
