EIU Students Equip with Asset Management Mindsets in the Gen Z Era

On December 3, the BBS Finance Club of the Becamex Business School at Eastern International University (EIU) organized the program Private Wealth Management for Gen Z,” which attracted a large number of students interested in finance and investment.

At the event, Mr. Tran Ha Xuan Vu – Investment Advisory Director at KAFI Securities, provided an overview of the private wealth management sector. With more than 14 years of experience at major institutions such as VinaCapital and Rong Viet Securities, he emphasized that students – especially those at EIU – should begin developing a risk-management mindset early to avoid emotional investment decisions in a rapidly changing market environment.

Sharing insights on building a personal financial foundation, Ms. Tran Thi Diem My – CFA Charterholder, with over 12 years of experience in the finance industry in Singapore and Vietnam, emphasized the importance of systematic financial planning for students. According to her, access to information is an advantage, but achieving financial stability requires discipline, clear goal-setting, and effective resource allocation.

Bringing a practical perspective from his own experience as a young investor, Mr. Dong Gia Bao – Former President of the HSU Finance Club who previously participated in Moneyverse and the CFA Research Challenge, shared real-world investment lessons gained over five years in the market. He emphasized that starting early, investing step by step, and continuously learning are essential foundations for EIU students to build a sustainable investment portfolio.

In addition to the speakers’ presentations, students from the Faculty of Business Administration were introduced to four key topics aligned with the program’s theme: an overview of private wealth management, personal financial planning mindsets, asset allocation and portfolio construction, and career orientations in the wealth management sector.

As young people are becoming increasingly proactive in investment activities, the program served as an opportunity for EIU students to build a solid foundation in financial knowledge, enabling them to manage and grow their assets intelligently. The organizers hope that the practical insights shared during the event will help EIU students gain greater confidence as they enter the professional environment and navigate the highly dynamic financial market.
