EIU Participates in Design Thinking Training under TF SCALE 2025 Project at Singapore Polytechnic

From June 1 to June 4, 2025, a delegation of lecturers and staff from Eastern International University (EIU) participated in a Design Thinking training course held at Singapore Polytechnic (SP), Singapore. The event was part of the international project TF SCALE 2025, sponsored by Temasek Foundation (Singapore), which aims to foster educational collaboration, develop leadership capabilities, and promote community engagement through advanced training approaches across Asia.

EIU lecturers and staff at the Design Thinking training

During the course, EIU participants joined representatives from 11 universities across Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines—SP’s educational partners—in immersive sessions applying the Design Thinking methodology. The process included key stages such as: Sense & Sensibility, Empathy, Ideation, and Prototyping. Through these collaborative workshops, participants proposed innovative and practical solutions aimed at developing community programs tailored to students in multicultural environments.

To better understand the program framework and enhance their ability to support students in upcoming activities, EIU lecturers and staff actively engaged in discussions, networking, and knowledge-sharing with peers from participating institutions. This valuable experience not only strengthened EIU’s collaboration with Singapore Polytechnic but also expanded its academic network and deepened its ties with the regional education community.

EIU team successfully completes the training program

The course provided EIU’s delegation with in-depth knowledge of Design Thinking practices and a clearer understanding of TF SCALE 2025’s vision. It also served as essential preparation for the upcoming TF SCALE SP x EIU 2025 Student Exchange Program, which is set to take place in two phases: Phase 1 in Singapore from June 8 to June 21, 2025, and Phase 2 in Vietnam from September 22 to October 3, 2025./.
