From May 27, 2024, to June 2, 2024, students from the Becamex Business School had a fruitful study tour in Tokyo, Japan. This trip not only helped students gain new knowledge but also provided an opportunity to explore Japanese culture and people, and to visit and learn about the operations of several universities and enterprises in Japan.
On their first day in the land of cherry blossoms, the students familiarized themselves with the use of Japan’s primary public transportation, the train, learning the schedules and routes to adhere to their study tour itinerary. They were also impressed by the Japanese way of sorting household waste, the early check-in process at Japanese hotels, and quickly absorbed these advantages into their daily lives and studies in Hospitality Management.

The official experience began in the following days with visits to various entities and businesses, such as the office of Tokyo Corporation – the parent company of Becamex Tokyu Bình Dương; the Train and Bus Museum of Tokyu Group; the office of ARIS Corporation – a cybersecurity company with a branch in Ho Chi Minh City and a cybersecurity lab at EIU; Ray Aegis Japan; Sankosha Company; Asia University (AU); Tokyo City University (TCU); Tokyo University of Technology (TUT) – three strategic partners of EIU; and DMG MORI Tokyo Global Headquarters.
At these locations, students delved into the history, operations, and business strategies of each entity. For instance, at Tokyu Group, they learned about the projects the group plans to invest in Bình Dương, understanding that Tokyu Group’s investment policies aim not only for personal profit but also for societal contributions, promoting Tokyo’s development through a win-win relationship. This is also the approach they implement at Binh Duong New City.

At Asia University (AU) and Tokyo City University (TCU), students explored the libraries, noting similarities with the EIU library. They also had opportunities to socialize, make friends, and enhance their presentation skills through self-introduction sessions at TCU. Particularly at Tokyo University of Technology (TUT), students explored the Digital Twin Center and Fablab for Robotcon, learning about methods hackers use to steal information through DDoS attacks, and discovering products that support hospitals, such as sensor-operated beds.

During the visit to DMG MORI, students were introduced to 30 of the latest DMG MORI machine tools and the newest machining technologies currently applied in several countries, including Japan. At Sankosha Company, students toured the factory, observing production activities, and learning about the machinery, raw materials, and operational procedures in the washing, drying, folding, and packaging processes. From the company’s practical operations, students could see the close relationship between production and business – a relationship crucial to the survival of any enterprise.

Study tours and internships are activities EIU prioritizes to provide students with opportunities to experience and explore new horizons beyond classroom learning. Not only does EIU facilitate visits to reputable domestic enterprises and units, but it also enables students to have study tours and internships in developed countries around the world. In 2024, several study tours to Singapore and Thailand have been organized, promising meaningful learning and playing experiences, helping students accumulate knowledge and experience for their future studies and careers.
