EIU launches the new academic year: Freshmen Orientation into the journey of knowledge

On September 8, Eastern International University (EIU) organized the 2025 Freshmen Orientation Program. This annual activity is designed to help new students become familiar with the university environment and equip them with essential skills to adapt and thrive in their new journey.

Dr Ngo Minh Duc – President of EIU shared at the program

The event was attended by the University’s leadership, along with heads of departments, faculties, and specialized units. At the program, Dr. Ngo Minh Duc – President of EIU – delivered a welcome message and shared with the freshmen: In today’s era of integration, English is a key factor that opens up numerous career opportunities in the future; therefore, freshmen are encouraged to focus on English learning and achieve a minimum IELTS score of 6.0. In addition, throughout their studies at the university, students are expected to continually cultivate knowledge and skills to improve and develop themselves.

As part of the program, representatives from the Office of Academic Affairs, Office of Student Affairs, Office of International Affairs, Office of Research and Innovation, Foreign Language Center, Academic Excellence, and the Youth Union – Student Association, among others, introduced to freshmen the roles of each unit, available academic support channels, internship and practicum opportunities, as well as community and extracurricular activities. This provided freshmen with a deeper understanding of EIU’s training orientation, academic pathways, and future career opportunities.

In the following days, each faculty will organize its own series of activities to introduce academic programs and connect students with lecturers, academic advisors, and businesses. In addition, over the course of three weeks, freshmen will participate in practical sessions throughout the orientation program, such as Effective University Learning Methods, Safe Technology Usage Skills, Healthcare and Medical Insurance, Career Orientation, and Workplace Skills in an International Environment, among others.

The orientation program not only helps freshmen become familiar with their new learning environment but also equips them with the knowledge, skills, and mindset necessary to adapt, grow, and integrate. This marks an important first step, reflecting EIU’s commitment to accompanying students on their journey of knowledge and self-empowerment./.
