EIU Students win 4 medals at the 2026 National Student Mathematics Olympiad

On April 11, the closing and award ceremony of the 32nd National Student Mathematics Olympiad 2026 took place in Gia Lai, marking the end of five days of vibrant competition (April 6–10). This year’s contest brought together 90 delegations with more than 660 students from universities and academies nationwide.

Eastern International University (EIU) participated with a team of nine students and made a strong impression by winning a total of four medals. Specifically, Tran Gia Long earned a Silver Medal in Calculus; Pham Phuong Thanh won a Bronze Medal in Calculus; and Le Duy Nguyen secured two Bronze Medals in Calculus and Algebra.

The National Student Mathematics Olympiad is organized by the Vietnam Mathematical Society in collaboration with higher education institutions, under the auspices of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Students’ Association. It is regarded as a prestigious academic competition that attracts outstanding mathematics students from across the country./.

According to the Organizing Committee, this year’s competition continued to record growth in both scale and academic quality. The exam questions were considered highly selective, closely aligned with the curriculum while still requiring deep thinking and creativity. In addition, the competition contributed to identifying and nurturing mathematical talents, while creating an environment for students to sharpen their thinking, enhance their analytical skills, and connect with the young research community.

On this occasion, the students also took part in a meaningful heritage journey filled with knowledge and emotions in Quy Nhon and Phu Yen
