Continuing their study visit in South Korea, students from Eastern International University (EIU) enjoyed a series of memorable experiences on Jeju Island, where they not only learned in an international academic environment but also immersed themselves in the island’s culture, people, and local way of life through a variety of hands-on activities.

During their study visit at Jeju National University, EIU students attended Korean language classes, gradually becoming familiar with the Korean language, culture, and everyday life. They also participated in exchange activities with students from various countries, providing valuable opportunities to build international connections, enhance intercultural communication skills, and experience learning in a diverse and inclusive academic environment.
In addition to their academic activities, the students explored Jeju’s rich cultural heritage through a variety of immersive experiences. They had the opportunity to wear traditional Hanbok, learn about Korea’s traditional mask dance, and discover the unique culture of the Haenyeo—Jeju’s renowned female divers whose tradition is recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. A hands-on seafood harvesting experience, including octopus, abalone, and sea cucumber, further allowed the students to gain a deeper appreciation of the islanders’ way of life, resilience, and enduring cultural traditions.

Beyond the classroom and cultural activities, the journey in Jeju also took EIU students to many of the island’s renowned attractions, historical landmarks, and scenic destinations. Each visit offered unique insights into Jeju’s natural beauty, history, and cultural identity, enriching the students’ perspectives and broadening their understanding of the world around them.
