EIU Students explore real-world working environment in FDI enterprises with ECCO Vietnam

As part of the Campus-wide Industry Talk Series, Eastern International University (EIU) organized a talk titled “From Classroom to Factory: What Do Students Need to Work in an FDI Environment?”, attracting a large number of students.

Representing ECCO Vietnam at the program were Ms. Bui Thuy Huong – Head of People & Culture; Ms. Pham Hoai Thuong – Deputy Head of Labor Relations; and Ms. Truong Thi My Linh – Recruitment Specialist.

Speakers from ECCO Vietnam shared their insights during the program

Speaking at the program, the speakers drew on their practical experience in a foreign direct investment (FDI) manufacturing environment to help students better understand career requirements in the context of global integration. Accordingly, FDI environments place strong emphasis on discipline, standardized processes, and the ability to work in multicultural settings. Therefore, in addition to professional knowledge, students need to equip themselves with adaptability, systems thinking, and effective communication skills.

In response to students’ questions about career opportunities, the speakers shared that Human Resources (HR) in manufacturing enterprises goes beyond recruitment and plays a strategic role in workforce development and building corporate culture.

Students asked questions to the speakers

As part of the program, the direct exchange between students and the speakers took place in a lively atmosphere, with many questions related to recruitment criteria, essential skills, and ways to adapt to a professional working environment. Through the discussion, students not only had their questions answered but also gained more specific guidance for their personal development journey.

The insights shared by the speakers helped students better identify the competencies they need, enabling them to proactively improve their skills and shape their development direction. This also reflects how EIU is gradually building an experience-based learning environment, where students are well prepared for their career journey from the time they are still on campus.
