On June 25, Eastern International University (EIU) hosted the SMU Masterclass: Sustainable & Green Finance, attracting the participation of faculty members, staff, and students. The event served as an academic forum for exchanging insights on green finance, sustainable development, and emerging research trends in the context of the global transition toward a greener economy.

Under the theme “Navigating the New World Order: Building Academic and Industry Capacity in Green & Sustainable Finance,” Associate Professor Theodor Cojoianu from Singapore Management University (SMU), who also serves as a member of the European Commission’s Sustainable Finance Platform, shared valuable insights into the role of green finance in driving the global economic transition.

During the masterclass, Associate Professor Cojoianu explored emerging trends in sustainable development, policy frameworks that support green growth, the Green Taxonomy, and the potential applications of data and artificial intelligence (AI) in research and finance.
