Eastern International University Receives AUN-QA Certificates for Four Academic Programs

In Ho Chi Minh City, Eastern International University (EIU), a member of Becamex Group, has recently received AUN-QA certificates for four academic programs: Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Software Engineering, Bachelor of Automation and Control Engineering, and Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering. This achievement recognizes EIU’s efforts to develop, maintain, and improve the quality of its academic programs in line with regional education quality standards.

As part of its development strategy, EIU considers quality assurance and improvement an ongoing commitment to students, parents, businesses, and society. Therefore, the University focuses on developing and improving its quality assurance system, promoting the assessment and accreditation of academic programs, and making continuous improvement an essential part of its operations.

Throughout its development, EIU has actively worked to improve education quality through accreditation. In 2024, the University completed its second cycle of institutional accreditation. In addition, 100% of EIU’s academic programs eligible for accreditation have been accredited according to the requirements of Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training.

During 2025–2026, EIU continued preparing for assessment under the AUN-QA Standards Version 4.0. From March 17 to 19, 2026, the University welcomed a team of AUN-QA assessors to conduct an external assessment of four academic programs: Business Administration, Software Engineering, Control and Automation Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering.

AUN (ASEAN University Network) is a network of universities in Southeast Asia. The AUN-QA Standards were first introduced by AUN in 2004. They are not only a set of assessment standards but also a comprehensive quality assurance framework. This framework focuses on learning outcomes, stakeholder involvement, and continuous improvement. It also requires universities to ensure that their development strategies, internal quality assurance systems, staff capabilities, and learning facilities work together to support education quality.

These strict requirements have given EIU the opportunity to review, improve, and strengthen its academic activities. As a result, the University has gradually improved its education quality in line with regional and international standards.

The AUN Quality Assurance Council has recognized that all four EIU academic programs—Business Administration, Software Engineering, Control and Automation Engineering, and Mechatronics Engineering—meet the latest AUN-QA Standards. This recognition also reflects the Council’s appreciation of EIU’s efforts and careful preparation throughout the assessment process.

Four EIU Academic Programs Receive AUN-QA Certificates

Under the AUN-QA Standards Version 4.0, each criterion is assessed on a 7-point scale based on how well the program is implemented, its effectiveness, its results, and its progress in continuous improvement.

The results show that all four EIU academic programs received scores of 4 out of 7 or higher across all eight AUN-QA criteria. A score of 4 means that the program fully meets the requirements, with activities properly carried out and results that consistently meet expectations. A score of 5 means that the program exceeds the requirements, with effective activities, good results, and clear progress in continuous improvement.

Dr Ngo Minh Duc, President of EIU, shared that the accreditation of the four academic programs not only recognizes the quality of the programs but also reflects the University’s quality assurance system, its efforts in continuous improvement, and its strong commitment to providing quality education for students. More importantly, he emphasized that these results and certificates mark an important milestone, encouraging EIU to continue setting higher standards for itself.

Dr Ngo Minh Duc also shared that in the 2026–2027 academic year, EIU will continue to participate in AUN-QA assessments for three academic programs: Nursing, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Networks and Data Communications. With a spirit of unity, openness to feedback, and a strong commitment to quality, EIU believes that more academic programs will receive accreditation and the University will achieve new milestones in its development. Most importantly, EIU aims to bring practical value to society and meet the expectations and trust of students, partners, and the community.
