From November 2025 to March 2026, Eastern International University (EIU) welcomed two interns from the College of Local Administration (COLA) at Khon Kaen University (KKU), Thailand. The students participated in a 16-week academic internship program at the Industry 4.0 Innovation Center (IIC).

Two students from COLA, KKU, completed their internship at IIC.
Throughout their internship, the two students demonstrated a serious commitment to learning, a proactive spirit of inquiry, and a readiness to embrace challenges when approaching new research topics. With a creative mindset and a “dare-to-think, dare-to-do” attitude, they initiated a research project on applying the Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI) framework within a local context, a fresh, high-potential approach with significant practical applications in today’s industrial transformation.
Two KKU students presented their internship reports.
Sharing their thoughts at the final report presentation at IIC 4.0, the interns expressed their excitement at the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to practice. They gained diverse insights ranging from academic theories to hands-on experience gained while surveying and researching local businesses. Furthermore, the internship helped them hone essential soft skills, particularly communication, teamwork, and the ability to adapt flexibly to a new professional environment.
The internship program at IIC 4.0 does more than just provide practical experience in a professional setting; it allows students to engage with issues of management, public policy, and digital transformation within the context of Industry 4.0. Ultimately, this initiative strengthens academic exchange and expands the collaborative partnership between EIU and its international partners.
