On July 31, the Vietnam National Union of Students at Eastern International University successfully held the 2nd Congress of the Vietnam National Union of Students at Eastern International University for the 2026–2028 term.

The Congress was honored to welcome Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and President of the Vietnam National Union of Students of Ho Chi Minh City, representing the Vietnam National Union of Students of Ho Chi Minh City and Mr. Pham Trong Minh Khoi, Officer of the Ho Chi Minh City Student Union Office, responsible for Cluster No. 06.
Representing the Youth Union of Becamex IDC Group was Mr. Luong Van Hai, Member of the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union, Member of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Member of the Party Committee, and Secretary of the Youth Union of Becamex IDC Group.
Representing Eastern International University were Dr. Ngo Minh Duc, President of the University; Mr. Mai Son Tung, Secretary of the Party Cell and Head of the Office of Student Affairs; and Mr. Nguyen Le Ngoc Long, Secretary of the Youth Union. Also in attendance were standing representatives of the Youth Unions from Binh Duong, Chanh Hiep, Lai Thieu, and Tan Hiep Wards; representatives of the Youth Unions and Vietnam National Union of Students from universities, colleges, and academies; as well as leaders of the University’s schools, offices, departments, and library.
Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa – Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and President of the Vietnam National Union of Students of Ho Chi Minh City, delivered a keynote address at the Congress.
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Nguyen Dang Khoa, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union and President of the Vietnam National Union of Students of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that to further strengthen the University’s core values and build on its existing strengths, the Vietnam National Union of Students at Eastern International University should focus on four key areas: education and traditional values; learning and scientific research; student support and welfare; and strengthening the role of the Vietnam National Union of Students.
He also highlighted that the Union should actively promote and preserve the nation’s historical and traditional values to foster students’ ideals and aspirations; encourage learning and scientific research among students; and, above all, remain committed to supporting students’ well-being and holistic development.

Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Mai Son Tung, Secretary of the University’s Party Cell, congratulated the newly elected members of the Executive Committee for the 2026–2028 term. He emphasized that serving on the Executive Committee was both an honor and a significant responsibility to the Association’s members and the entire student community of the University.
“I hope that each of you will continue to demonstrate solidarity, responsibility, creativity, and a pioneering spirit. Together, let us turn this term’s motto, ‘Wisdom – Unity – Growth – Aspiration,’ into reality by building a stronger Student Association that serves as a trusted companion to students and a pioneering force in student activities, contributing to the sustainable development of Eastern International University in its next stage of growth,” Mr. Mai Son Tung emphasized.
Mr. Truong Chau Phuoc Loc – a student from the School of Computing and Information Technology and Deputy Secretary of the EIU Youth Union, was re-elected as President of the Vietnam National Union of Students at Eastern International University for the 2nd term.
At the conclusion of the Congress, 15 members were selected by consensus to serve on the Executive Committee of the Vietnam National Union of Students at Eastern International University for its 2nd term. Mr. Truong Chau Phuoc Loc, a student from the School of Computing and Information Technology and Deputy Secretary of the EIU Youth Union, was re-elected as President of the Vietnam National Union of Students at Eastern International University for the 2026–2028 term.
