On March 16, Eastern International University (EIU) hosted the Grand Finale of the EIU Data Challenge 2026.
Dr. Kang Seung Won, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, delivered the opening remarks at the event.
The event was attended by Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Director of Dau Tieng Rubber One Member Co., Ltd.; Dr. Phan The Anh, Lecturer and Marketing Program Director, Faculty of Business Administration, Eastern International University (EIU); and Dr. Thai Huynh Anh Chi, Lecturer in Economics and Data Science, Faculty of Business Administration, EIU.
Teams delivered their presentations at the Grand Finale
At the Grand Finale, the finalist teams worked directly with a real-world dataset provided by Dau Tieng Rubber One Member Co., Ltd. Based on their analyses, the participants proposed data-driven solutions and business strategies, demonstrating their analytical thinking, data interpretation skills, and presentation abilities.
As the representative of the competition’s industry partner, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien shared valuable practical insights, enabling the teams to approach the data challenge from a business perspective and further refine their proposed solutions.

At the end of the competition, Team Bullet Point claimed the First Prize, followed by Team We Love Data with the Second Prize and Team Beyond R² with the Third Prize. The Consolation Prize was awarded to Team The Bé Ba.
More than an academic competition, the EIU Data Challenge 2026 served as a bridge between the University and industry, providing students with valuable opportunities to tackle real-world business challenges while strengthening their ability to apply data analytics in business decision-making.
