EIU conducts training on self-assessment and quality enhancement for 03 academic programs in accordance with AUN-QA 4.0 standards

To enhance its capacity for educational quality assurance and accreditation in accordance with regional ASEAN standards, Eastern International University (EIU) organized a training program on May 12–13, 2026, to provide guidance on reviewing quality improvement activities and conducting self-assessment for three academic programs based on the AUN-QA Criteria Version 4.0.

The three EIU academic programs undergoing assessment according to AUN-QA standards include Electrical Engineering, Computer Networks and Data Communications, and Nursing.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Tran Hoai Bao – Director, Office of Quality Assurance, noted that compared with the previous version, AUN-QA 4.0 has been streamlined to include eight criteria and 53 requirements, while placing greater emphasis on academic program management and factors that directly influence student learning outcomes. In addition, the new version introduces further requirements related to innovation, entrepreneurial mindset, feedback collection, and continuous improvement to enhance training quality.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Hao – Advisor of University Council/Board of Directors discussed the required evidence system under the AUN-QA standards with lecturers

Following the program, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Van Hao – Advisor of University Council/Board of Directors – introduced the required evidence system under the AUN-QA standards, while sharing practical experience in implementing quality assessment at higher education institutions in Vietnam and across Southeast Asia.

Through the training program, EIU’s specialized teams gained a stronger foundation for understanding the structure, requirements, and evidence system of the AUN-QA Criteria Version 4.0. This enables them to proactively review, improve, and enhance the quality of academic programs in line with the university’s international integration orientation.
