Drawing from their experiences in writing and translation, the speakers also emphasized the importance of maintaining a reading habit in the digital age, when people can easily be swept up in the flow of fast and brief information. Accordingly, reading books selectively and consistently can help young people develop independent thinking, critical thinking skills, and a strong cultural foundation.

Dr. Hoang Thi Thuc – Director of EIU Library, shared her remarks at the talkshow

Students raised questions during the program

In addition, real-life stories about their journey into literature, the creative process, and the challenges of writing and translation brought great inspiration to EIU students. The speakers also spent time interacting with students, answering their questions, and encouraging them to nurture a love of reading while gradually building reading habits in their daily lives.

The Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day 2026 at EIU concluded with meaningful impressions, contributing to the promotion of reading culture while reaffirming the university’s role in fostering a knowledge-rich and inspiring learning environment.
